Wei-Qiang Zhang received the Ph.D. degree in information and communication engineering from Tsinghua University in 2009. From 2016 to 2017, he was a visiting scholar at Stanford University.
He is currently a Research Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University and serves as the head of the Speech and Audio Technology Laboratory (SATLab). His research interests span speech and audio recognition and analysis, signal and information processing, and machine learning.
He is a recipient of several awards, including the First Prize for Science and Technology Progress from the Ministry of Education, the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, and the Science and Technology Olympics Advanced Group Award. His team has also earned first-place results in multiple international speech and audio challenges.
