Tsinghua-Nokia Joint Research Program, “SD Slot Enabled Pluggable Smart Space Services”, Dec. 2007-May. 2008, Principle Investigator.
The objective of the project is to develop a platform-independent technology for the mobile phone wireless extension, upon which a variety of applications can be put into practice without the need for hardware(CPU) and software(OS) compatibility. An American patent had been applied under approval.
Tsinghua-Nokia Joint Research Program, “Fused Digital and Physical Mobile Gateway,” June 2008-May 2009, Principle Investigator.
The objective of the project is to build a universal SD card hardware accessory for mobile devices to create universal plug&play mobile sink/gateway solution for accessing smart space independent of consumer device platforms, and build service entry through which consumers can enjoy infotainment content and service from smart space by add-on SD cards. And besides, it serves the purpose of the village Internet gateway for information aggregation system.
Tsinghua-Nokia Joint Research Program, “Micro usd card and sdk for Maemo context framework extension”, June 2009-May 2010, Principle Investigator.
The objective of the project is to build a universal uSD-card based gateway used as the sinks in the Internet of Things. We have developped micro uSD (universal Sensor Data) cards, phone back covers with sensors, for concept validation, service rehearsal and pilot & demo in public events. Also developped are the easy-to-use uSD SDK (C++) on Maemo and Simbian platform and extend Maemo context framework for uSD centered universal sensor services.
China National Science Foundation Committee (NSFC) supported key project, “Asymmetrical and full-covered information sharing network: theory and key techniques”, Jan. 2010 – Dec. 2012, Principle Investigator.
The objective of the project is to investigate the novel architecture of the information sharing Internet in order to provide a wide area covered sharing service with a mass of web information of signifcant asymmetry of both traffic and flow direction. A demo system will be established in the project to demostrate the feasibility and advantages of the new architecture.
