Fang Liu got his Ph.D. degree from Tsinghua University in 2008 and became an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011 and Tenured Professor in 2021.
Fang Liu has published more than 100 journal papers in the area of nanophotonics, with a focus on free-electron light source on chip with Cherenkov and Smith-purcell radiation and integrated plasmonic devices. As adviser and co-adviser, he has graduated more than 10 Ph.D. students and 6 Master Students, and currently advising 5 doctoral students and 2 master Students. He has served as PI/Co-PI on over 15 research grants administrated by China government agencies and from industry, with total amount of over 55 million RMB and personal share of over 45 million RMB. These projects lead to novel integrated free-electron light sources, free-electron emitter.
