Liangrui PENG is currently an associate professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Her research interests include multilingual document image recognition and understanding, machine learning, pattern recognition. She was one of the recipients of the National Awards for Science and Technology Progress (Second Class) in China in 1999, 2003 and 2008. Her research work on deep learning based multilingual document image recognition and historical Chinese document image recognition won the DAS 2016 Best Paper Award. Her former students won ICDAR 2019 Best Student Paper Runner-Up Award, DRR 2015 Best Student Paper Award. Her research group was the winner of ICPR 2020 and ICDAR 2017 Arabic Video Text Detection and Recognition Competition.
