Han JIAO was born in Dongfeng, Jilin Province. He is a Chinese citizen and a member of the Communist Party of China. He graduated from the University of South Australia with a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science. He is currently an associate researcher in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, and is also concurrently employed by the National Key Laboratory of Space Network and Communication at Tsinghua University. In addition, he is also listed in the National Science and Technology Expert Database of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and worked as a member in the Public Safety Special Committee of the China Institute of Communications, as a specially appointed expert of the National Center for Innovation in Political and Legal Intelligence, and as a specially appointed expert of the Beijing Zhongguancun Internet of Things and Smart City Industry Alliance. Han JIAO has many years of work experience in large state-owned military and industrial enterprises, domestic high-tech listed companies, and large foreign companies, with some years of the overseas. His expertise covers a wide range of spectrum, including complex system design, system integration, big data analytics, border and coastal defense, smart cities, low-altitude security, and other fields. He has also published several academic papers and has participated in many well-known international academic conferences where he has given speeches. His current main research direction is situational awareness and intelligent computing in complex environment.
