Wei Feng received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees (both with the highest honors) from the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He is currently a Professor with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, and a Chief Scientist of Network Science with the State Key Laboratory of Space Network and Communications, Beijing, China.
His research interests include space-air-ground integrated networks, 5G/6G mobile communications, maritime Internet of Things, and Internet of Intelligent Robots/Machines. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers, including 10 ESI highly cited papers and 2 cover papers. He also holds over 60 granted patents.
He has received the second Prize of the National Technological Invention Award of China in 2016, the Outstanding Young Scholars Fund of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2019, the Distinguished Young Scholars Fund of NSFC in 2024, and the first Prize of Science and Technology Award of China Institute of Communications in 2024. He has also received 9 Best Paper Awards of IEEE conferences and 6 Excellent/Outstanding Paper Awards of leading domestic conferences.
He currently serves as the Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief of China Communications, the Editor of Chinese Journal on Internet of Things, and the Editor of Chinese Journal of Electronics. He served as the Editor of IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking from 2019 to 2023. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the China Institute of Communications.
